The “Regulation on the Amendment of the Parking Lot Regulation” prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization entered into force by being published in the Official Gazette today. Here are the highlights in the regulation:

Regulations for electric vehicles

According to the regulation, it will be mandatory to design at least 5 percent of the parking area, not less than 1, in accordance with the electric vehicles, including the charging unit, in the new buildings with the number of mandatory parking spaces of 20 or more.

In the new regions and public parking lots and parking lots of shopping malls at least 10 percent It will be necessary to arrange the parking lot in accordance with the relevant standards in accordance with the electric vehicles (including the charging unit).

Accordingly, at least one of the charging units to be installed in shopping malls larger than 30,000 square meters and at least two of the shopping malls larger than 70,000 square meters must have fast charging capacity according to the relevant standards.

Parking requirement according to flat size

Along with the regulation, the list of obligatory parking areas in residential areas was also arranged. Accordingly, it was decided to create 1 parking space for each 3 flats under 80 square meters, 1 for each 2 apartments between 80 square meters and 120 square meters, 1 for each flat 180 square meters, and 2 parking areas for each flat over 180 square meters.

Within the scope of the regulation, the area limit in the parking lot foreseen as 1 for each independent section in commercial buildings; from 30 m2 to 40 m2 for shops, shops and banks, from 20 m2 to 30 m2 for markets, from 40 m2 to 50 m2 for office buildings. An area limit of 500 m2 was added to the list for industrial zones.

The right to create open and closed parking areas in the gardens of the residences was brought. The parking lot requirement of the plot where the residence is located will be met by underground construction, without eliminating the garden character. When such a parking lot is created, it will be covered with 30 cm of soil cover and greened. Parking lot entrances and exits can also be provided from the front and back gardens.

In houses with a distance of 5 meters from the street, a parking area will be created, leaving the area 2 meters outside the building facade empty, provided that it does not obstruct the pedestrian traffic on the street.

According to the regulation, the entire garden area can be arranged as a parking lot in buildings with a single independent section, such as villas, provided that they do not prevent the passages on the sidewalk.
